Riding a bike across Europe

This summer I will take two months off work and use some of that time to bike tour across Europe. I am planning to fly to Paris, France with my bike and the gear in a cardboard box, assemble the bike upon arrival and ride to the EuroVelo 6 route. From there I’ll follow the route going East. I’ll ride through France, a little bit of Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Slovakia and then turn North to finish in Prague, Czech Republic.

The total route is 1,300 miles. This means I’ll need to ride approximately 60 miles per day for about 20 days. I intend to ride 5-6 days a week and use remaining days to rest. I plan to overnight mostly in municipal campgrounds which seem to be plenty along the route.
